#iPHONEOGRAPHY, 9 OCT 2014

The #iPhoneographySA exhibition was held at The Woodstock Exchange on 9 October 2014 (66 Albert Road, Woodstock). My friend, Romario Lourenço entered his photograph into the Scenery category and his photo was put on display. A few of us decided to tag along to support him.

We arrived at the event and it was extremely busy. Art was put on display and included the title, name, category and prices of each photograph. There were cute cafes with interesting decor on the walls such as bicycles. Cocktail bars and coffee shops kept the drinks flowing.

The whole vibe was sort of hipster-ish, ha.

Apple teamed up with Nifty250 to print polaroids of everyone’s Instagram pictures, all you had to do was hashtag #iPhoneographySA on the specific picture you wanted and it would be printed for free. (This was pretty cool and obviously people got carried away.) Apple products were also on sale and you could even update your iOS for free.

Entertainment was provided by local band, Beatenberg, known for their hits ‘Pluto (Remember You)’, Chelsea Blakemore’ and ‘Rafael’. These boys were on fiiire: they had the crowd dancing and singing along and gave off a great vibe.

#iPhoneographySA was a stunning event, I look forward to the next one. Maybe I’ll even consider entering the next competition 😉
